Headaches

Too many times headaches are dismissed as a normal part of life. Nothing can be further from the truth. Many headaches are caused from the neck being out of alignment. When the top of the neck is out of alignment, it can put pressure on the nerves in that area. Those nerves help regulate blood flow to the head. If those nerves are being irritated, it can cause altered blood flow to the head triggering a headache.

Neck Pain

So many people come to our office with neck pain. Often this is accompanied with upper back pain/tightness and/or shoulder pain. The great news is that there is hope. Many times there are postural changes that need to be addressed, workstation changes that need to be made, or daily habits that need to be modified.

Whiplash

Even if you have minor neck pain or low back pain following a car accident, it is important to be checked by a chiropractor. Research has shown that whiplash injuries can occur at speeds as low as 7mph! Some signs and symptoms of whiplash include neck pain, headaches, stiffness and loss of range of motion, fatigue, and even depression.

Low Back Pain

Low back pain is the number #1 reason people go to the doctor. Many times the patient is given drugs to cover up the pain without properly understanding the nature of the problem.

Sciatica

Have you ever felt shooting pain down the back of your leg? Sciatica is a common condition. This happens when there is irritation or inflammation around the sciatic nerve. Sometimes this condition is caused by a problem in the low back. It may also be caused by a tight muscle known as the piriformis. Dr. Aaron has extensive post graduate training in treating sciatica. Whatever the cause of your sciatica, Dr. Aaron will help you with a care plan to get you out of pain. Don’t wait. The longer you wait, the worse sciatica can get.

Chiropractors have thousands of hours of training in diagnosing, treating, and eliminating these types of pain. On your first visit, Dr. Aaron will help determine the cause of your pain. This includes assessing the motion in all the joints in your leg. Dr. Aaron will also check wear patterns on the bottom of your shoes to better understand how you are walking. Any muscle imbalances will be treated through manual adjustment if areas aren’t moving properly. In addition to your in-office care, Dr. Aaron may also give you some home exercises or stretches or perform myofascial release techniques to speed up your recovery.

Hip Pain

Hip pain can have also have a number of symptoms associated with it. Sometimes the pain can radiate into the groin or down the side of the thigh. It is important to assess any muscle imbalances or joint problems in the hip and around the hip.

Disc Injuries

Intervertebral discs are the shock absorbers of the spine. They are found in between the bones (called vertebra) of the spine. When you have a disc injury or herniation, it is important to have a proper diagnosis.

Our Chiropractor, Dr. Aaron Seaton suffered a massive disc injury at age 19. He has extensive training in the treatment of disc injuries and his personal experience with such an injury makes him passionate about helping each and every disc injury sufferer. If Dr. Aaron determines you have a disc injury, you will be given the appropriate care plan.

The best thing to remember is the discs take time to heal. Discs have a limited blood supply. They require proper motion in order to receive nutrients from the bones above and below. Before you consider surgery, it is important to have a better understanding of this injury.

Scoliosis

Scoliosis is a spinal condition where the spine curves to the side instead of being straight. In children, scoliosis can progress, sometimes rapidly. Chiropractors are experts in spinal alignment. Our profession leads the scientific community in effective treatment for scoliosis.

Scoliosis is a condition that will require ongoing chiropractic care, however with that said you can live a wonderful, happy, healthy life as long as you stay dedicated to the plan you develop with your doctor. We can help you drastically improve you quality of life without the need for surgery.

In addition to regular chiropractor adjustments, Dr. Aaron uses safe and effective home traction methods to slowly correct the abnormal curves due to scoliosis. If we are unsuccessful with home traction, we can have the patient measured for a brace that can accelerate correction of the scoliosis.

Carpal Tunnel

Carpal tunnel is a condition where the patient is experiencing numbness or weakness in the hands. Often this condition is misdiagnosed and surgery is recommended. There are a number of conditions that can mimic carpal tunnel syndrome. Sometimes this problem is caused by the bones of the wrist being out of alignment. Dr. Aaron can adjust these bones to restore motion and help take pressure of the nerve in that area. Sometimes the symptoms are coming from the muscles in the forearm. Other patients have the problem coming from their neck or even the muscles in their armpit!

This is why it is so important to choose a chiropractor with advanced training in extremity management. Extremities is a term that refers to our arms and legs. Not all chiropractors have advanced training to manage these areas. Dr. Aaron has completed hundreds of hours of advanced post graduate training to better treat people with these types of conditions.
