What is SoftWave?

Good morning everybody, this is Dr. Aaron Seaton with The Chiropractic Place, and today's video is about a new technology that we brought into the office. What is SoftWave? And SoftWave is a tissue regenerative therapy. This unit, it looks a lot like an ultrasound unit, where we use ultrasound gel on the areas that we're treating, and it's a really cool technology that does four different things to help people get better from a lot of things that most people are thinking, that can't be helped.

So it's a really amazing technology that I've been looking at for over two years, and I've really wanted to bring it into the office, and then finally we have it here. We've already seen people get crazy results with this thing, from shoulder issues, low back problems, tendon issues, plantar fasciitis, there's a lot of different complaints people are seeing change and quality of life improvements with using this technology. So what does it do? What is SoftWave doing that's helping people so much? And there's four different things that we want to touch on where it's really helping.

Now one of the first things that it can do is those shockwaves that are going into your tissue can actually activate the stem cells in your body. So stem cells are cells that we have in there that can help stimulate tissue healing and turn into the cells of the area that has damage. And so we're activating your own stem cells to go into these areas and start healing them. The second thing that can happen is we can get a major decrease in inflammation using this technology. Sometimes this change is instantaneous, where patients after a treatment are getting up and feeling no pain and way better range of motion and changes right after the treatment. So this is really cool.

The third thing is that it increases blood flow and actually stimulates the healing of any damaged blood vessels in the area. Now that is huge for healing and over a 12 week course of time it's shown an improvement in blood flow by 200-300%. That's huge if you're trying to heal a chronic old injury.

And then the last one is that it breaks up scar tissue. The shockwaves from this unit come out at over 3,000 miles per hour. And if there's any scar tissue in that area that we're treating, say it's your knee or maybe your shoulder, it's going to break up that scar tissue.

And one of the coolest things that I've seen so far is people with hardly any range of motion in their shoulder having near full range or full range of motion after just one treatment. And that's because we're breaking up that scar tissue and allowing that joint to move the way it's supposed to. So this is what SoftWave is.

We are incorporating this into our practice on top of the chiropractic care that we provide. It's a fantastic technology and a compliment to what we're trying to do here, which is help our patients get well without drugs, without surgery. If we can, we want to utilize the body's own healing ability to get better.
