How does exercise work?

Exercise improves your cardiovascular health and helps maintain and grow lean skeletal muscle.

What exercises do chiropractors recommend?

Exercises that chiropractors recommend depend on the patient and the specific goals of that patient’s care plan.

Is it better to exercise before or after a chiropractic adjustment?

It doesn’t matter if you exercise before or after your chiropractic adjustment. It is more important that you exercise regularly.

Benefits Of Daily Exercise

A lot of what you see in the fitness world these days is complex, super high-intensity stuff, which can make many people feel inadequate when they're just starting out.

The reality is that the threshold for being fit and healthy is lower than most people think.

If all you see is a lot of this highly intense type of exercise all the time, it can lead you to believe that that's the only way to get fit, and that's not true.

Most people, most average people, have time constraints.

They have work, they have family, and their kids have soccer practice.

They don't have hours and hours a day to spend in a sauna, jump in a cold plunge, work out, and stretch.

We need to remember that everything is fine and sound, and there's definite utility in those things, but we also need to think about what is simple and what is consistent.

That is how you want to look at your fitness and exercise because you're trying to build something that will last.

Regarding health and fitness, I'm not so concerned about my appearance in 30 days.

I'm thinking more long-term.

How can I function in 10, 20 or 30 years based on what I'm doing now?

Keeping things simple and consistent will help.

And what are those things?

Well, we need to eat good food, real food.

We need to get some form of daily exercise every day, and hopefully, you'll do things you enjoy.

When I train, I do things that I enjoy doing.

Incorporating things you love as part of your exercise is vital to keeping that going and staying consistent.

Family time and having a purpose are also important factors when considering good health and fitness; they build into and help support that.

There is a lot of basic training that you can do, even if you're just starting.

There are a lot of bodyweight exercises you can start doing at home.

Simple walking lunches: if you're new to exercise, you could be doing push-ups even with you on your knees doing push-ups.

There are so many different simple tools that you can use to help move you further along.

The initial key is to start with what your body can handle and not get discouraged.

Only do what your body can tolerate, especially the first 30 days if you're new to exercise.

Focus more on eating well, getting your walks in, getting some gentle exercise, and getting your body used to training.

After 30 days, you can start implementing more.

But the key is just to remember that the threshold for staying fit and healthy is much lower than many people think, and it's built on simple, consistent, sound principles that have been around since the beginning of time.
