Frequently Asked Questions
Is chiropractic good for your body?
Chiropractic is very good for your body for several different reasons. Chiropractic care can decrease pain and improve the range of motion in your neck and back. Chiropractic care can alleviate headaches. Chiropractic care also helps maintain spinal health.
How often should you go to the chiropractor?
The frequency of chiropractic visits is determined by looking at a number of factors. How long has the patient had the problem? What spinal issues are seen on spinal x-rays? What are the patient’s goals with chiropractic care? All of this information must be considered before determining a chiropractic care plan. Typically patients are seen at a frequency of 2-3x/week at the beginning of their chiropractic care. This is necessary to restore proper motion in the joints and begin the healing process. As the chiropractor monitors progress, frequency usually begins to drop down to 1x/week and may even go as low as 1x/month once the patient is ready to transition to maintenance/wellness care.
Why chiropractic care is important?
Chiropractic care is an important tool for restoring proper motion and alignment to the spine and for maintaining proper spinal health. Without proper motion and alignment, the spine can begin to wear out at a rapid rate.
How long does a chiropractic alignment last?
Alignment typically lasts for a short period of time in the beginning stages of chiropractic care. This is because the joints are used to being stuck in a bad position and want to return to that position. This is why a frequency of 2-3x/week is so important in the beginning. The chiropractor is helping re-train your spine and must-see you frequently to accomplish that goal. Once a patient reaches maintenance/wellness care, a frequency of 1x/week to 1x/month is usually recommended depending on the individual patient's lifestyle and needs.
Should I go to the chiropractor if I'm not in pain?
The best time to start chiropractic care is before you are in pain. The same is true with dental care. You should see your dentist before you have a problem. A chiropractic exam and x-rays can help reveal any underlying issues that may cause future problems. This information can be vital in preventing future problems from developing.
How many chiropractic sessions do I need for neck pain?
The number of chiropractic sessions needed for neck pain must be determined during your chiropractic exam. The exam and neck x-rays will help the chiropractor determine the appropriate care plan for you. Rest assured that any questions you have will be answered during that first visit.
How do you sleep after a chiropractic adjustment?
Many patients report improved sleep during their chiropractic care. This is due to the fact that chiropractic care can help improve nerve function. The nerve system regulates sleep/wake cycles in the body and chiropractic care may help affect that in some patients.
Does chiropractic care last?
Chiropractic care can have a lasting effect. It all depends on a patient’s commitment to their care plan. Following your chiropractor’s recommendations are the single biggest factor in achieving lasting results.

Hey everybody, it's Dr. Aaron Seaton with The Chiropractic Place. Today we're doing a video about the top five benefits of chiropractic care. Many new patients or people are curious about chiropractic care. Maybe they started seeing some videos on YouTube or online, and they're starting to have some curiosity about what chiropractic does. I wanted to shoot this video so that people have a better understanding of why we have many long-term patients who love getting adjusted, love seeing their chiropractors, and what those benefits are.
First and foremost, decreased pain. Many patients come into the chiropractic office, and whether they have neck pain or low back pain, possibly they're having headaches. When they start to see tremendous improvement in those symptoms, that wakes them up. So there is some severe benefit of going to a chiropractor and getting adjusted consistently.
The second thing people notice is improved range of motion. A lot of the time, I hear this in my office from my patients. If they're driving, they used not to be able to look over their shoulder. And they start saying, "Well, I can look over my shoulder, no problem when I'm backing up now." So it's tremendous how much chiropractic care can affect the range of motion of your neck, back, shoulders, and knees. Chiropractors can work on many different joints in the body, it's not just confined to the spine, so this is a definite improvement for patients who come in for chiropractic care consistently.
Number three, chiropractic care is pretty darn affordable. When you look at the expense related to some healthcare situations out there, the cost of chiropractic care is extremely reasonable when compared to these other healthcare modalities. It's also convenient and another great benefit to it is with all of this happening, chiropractors aren't using drugs or surgeries to accomplish this. We're making chiropractic adjustments and allowing your body to do the healing. That's a significant distinction for chiropractors.
Number four, has a very high satisfaction rate. They've done these studies several times, and 92% of people under chiropractic care report less pain, and 80% of the people who were seen report improved range of motion. Among the highest satisfaction rates we have among people who've gone in and seen the chiropractor and were satisfied with the results they got. We get an overwhelming thumbs-up from patients who continue to see their chiropractors.
Number five, has a better quality of life. Not a week goes by that I don't hear from a patient that some other thing in their life has gotten better. I've had patients tell me that there was ringing in their ears that cleared up. They're sleeping better, and their mood is better. These other benefits of decreased pain and range of motion, but I wanted to put that one in because all these different aspects of our life get affected when we're under chiropractic care, and the good thing is, why is that? Chiropractors adjust the spine, and the spine protects your nerve system, which controls everything in your body. So when we start taking pressure off that nerve system. That system can fire at its full potential, your body will work better, and that is why we see improvements in several other aspects of patients' lives because the nerve system controls everything your body does.
I'm Dr. Aaron Seaton. I hope this list of the top five benefits helps you understand why people come in for chiropractic care.
